Polar bears, as predicted, were finally added to the list of endangered species in around 2007. These mammals live in cold places such as the Artic and Canada. For a living, they hunt seals and other marine mammals. They travel, mate on ice and even give birth on ice. But that is being changed because the sea ice is melting. The cause for this is that the temperature is getting warmer which we take responsibility for because of polution. Hunting polar bears by the native people will not be banned, but importing polar bear products in Canada will be. Some scientist are looking at the positive side which is, if the artic temperature returns to the negatives and the sea ice returns, then the polar bears will have a chance to survive.
I really do hope that the polar bears survive. Although they may not directly affect us, they're affecting the world which we live in. I think that if we slowly help by carpooling, recycling, stop dripping faucets, and other little thing, then we might really help the poor polar bears. Also, I believe that hunting polar bears by native people should be banned because then even more would survive. In all, I think that if we all step in, then polar bears will be taken out of the endangered species list.

Literature: Bullying (Man's inhumanity to Man)
Society can't put an end to bullying because there is so much and it's so unpredictable that it's very difficult to control. For example, I was watching the news and heard that a 12 year old boy got burned by his own classmates just because he saw them steal something. That was a very wrong thing and proves how unpredictable it is. Also, in the book, Slake's Limbo, the main character is bullyed by being pushed and shoved just because he's homeless and has no status. In all, bullying is a very low act and leads to bad consequences.
Literature: Summer Reading Questions
What sort of person do you imagine the author of the novel to be?
I imagine the author of My Side of the Mountain to be a person who seeks adventure and is a nature and outdoors person. I believe the author can calmly adjust to the forest, just like the main character in the novel. Also, that he or she has once in their life wanted to, or actually did "run away."

Welcome Scientists
My favorite subject is science because we get to explore and deal with new things.
The best book I ever read was twilight.
My favorite food to buy in the cafetaria is the choco chip cookie.
On the weakend, when all my chores are done, I like to go bike riding with my friends.
If I won a free airline ticket to any place I wanted, I would go to Hawaii because of the great beaches and warm weather.
My favorite color is aqua blue.
If I had a pet, it would be a petite sized dog and I'd name it Fluffy.
This year, if I work hard enough, I hope to score straight A's in all my classes.
